  • M-Time Test is an experimental stop-motion animation which reveals moving images’ essential relationship to collage. The work includes documented analogue effects created by re-projecting time-lapse imagery from my time at an artists residency in Norway. The projected imagery is transformed in the studio, using mirrors, glass and hand-made bricolage tools created for the production of optical effects. The transformed time-lapse is then combined with found images from the internet, creating a temporal collage which both examines and produces an observable form of time.

Weinstein’s art investigates time: it’s function as concept and as substance in human experience. Rooted in the history of drawing, she uses stop-motion animation, found video, and bricolage to examine links and gaps between narrative constructions and mathematical foundations of political, historical, and personal temporality.
