DIVA TV critically examines the role of the Diva in experimental performance and video art. The piece was developed through a group proocess. The work evolved as a collection of disparate ideas and segments - some carefully scripted and others improvised. This cable-TV channel presents the viewer with a comical look at the Diva - the pop star, the aged actress, the obscure opera singer, the swan dancer, and the skating queen. The producers of this video were known collectively as the ÒDiva Research Team . They became a focal point for the ideas and development of the diva festival - including the creation of characters for the diva web-site and the presentation of individual performance works as a part of a cabaret that ranged from Ònoire to Òart songs and beyond.
