Dreams of the Night Cleaners

This visually stunning docu-fiction takes us on a complex voyage through history and memory. Newspaper clippings, computer screens, billboards, and the reflective windows of bank buildings whisper fragments of racism and greed. An archivist, an airline worker, and a night cleaner overcome their mutual suspicions and share their stories: of destroyed homelands, migration and struggle. Original mixes of world music and playful video effects create a mythic landscape of healing for the characters, for our cultural stories, and for ourselves. A thought provoking video that brings Canadian immigration history to life, co-produced with the Banff Centre and the National Film Board.
