Escape

 'Escape' is an original 3D animation. A first person view, walking through a stark contemporary apartment, travels from one room to the next. In the final room, the floor opens up into a dark void, and the camera careens forward, falling into the abyss. A horizonlessness only possible in the virtual world. The view tumbles into a grey expanse, exposing the work space of the 3D modelling program and the behind-the-scenes of the simulacrum of domestic space where the video began. This work aims to explore the potential of the digital realm, while drawing attention to the dissociative state that increased virtual presence can elicit.
