Heroics is attempt to examine the heroism of women though a montage of still photos and visuals intercut with excerpts from about 30 womens stories about their sense of personal power and endurance. The tape was motivated by the artist s concern that heroism is male-defined and the (male) language selects experience and events within the context of patriarchal definitions of courage.
