Rise and Fall of an Empire

This work investigates aspects of youth culture and its posture and effect on overt consumerism. It centers on the rise and demise of the punk/new wave scene, exploring tribal decoration and the exterior facade of youth culture. It shows us the makeup, hairdos, and fashion passively. Through the use of interviews, arresting imagery and music, we feel the desperation, angst, and decadence that is inherent in all reactionary youth cultures.
