  • When we lose languages do we lose unique emotions?
Making the sound of language visible through a spectrographic display, Mother Tongue makes us aware of the affect contained in embodied speech. In Tracing Language we hear people discuss the lineage of their mother tongue(s).
Comments on materiality and affect in language brings the emotional aspect of mother languages to the second section in Feeling Language.
Forces of technology, globalization and appropriation are tracked
in the final section, Changing Language.
Also suitable for gallery installation, comprised of a split screen with the spectrographic display (generated by the speech of the people on the right side of the screen) showing on the left side.
