TOXIC (Yellow River)

Experimental montage; produced at the Western Front. This video works with
the topic of environmental poisons by depicting a transformation of the
environment into a world of visually beautiful toxic sites. Using the river
as a metaphor, the contamination flows from the tail of a glacier down to
the urban garbage dump at the mouth of the river. The images are a
composite of photo-stills: some from journals from the late 70 s and early
80 s, and others taken at locations in B.C. and Albert, from the mountains
around Lake Louise to the beaches at Tofino.
