Video Lottery Terminals are computerized versions of 3-reel or roulette gambling machines plaguing Alberta in the last ten years (as well as the rest of Canada). They seem to offer a private fruity thrill of playing with one's fate and luck. I am drawn to VLT s as they are solely about desire, a secret pursual of fortune and happiness. I first came exposed to VLT's while studying dance in Alberta. The narration is excerpts from my diary, my hopes and expectations to become a dance, to discover love and sex. Like a VLT player, I never "win" anything; it is the enthrallment of risk that spins me onwards. I use the VLT as a metaphor for the gamble to fulfill my desires.
